On this introduction to the Etna, your guide will pick yo up at your accommodation for a half-day exploration of this majestic mountain, to be scheduled either in the morning or for sunset.
On your way to the Etna, you will pass through ancient villages, and your guide will explain how locals live in the company of capricious Mount Etna. You will then quickly become familiar with the most characteristic features of the unique Etna Park, its woods, colors, perfumes, flora and the deep changes that the volcano continuously effects on the surrounding landscape.
Then, you will head up along an ancient lava flow, to reach one of the most breathtaking sceneries of the Eastern Sicily region, known as the Valle del Bove. Afterwards, equipped with strings, torches and helmets you will enter a lava cave. Finally, following a magnificent walk on the edge of extinct craters, where your guide will explain the structure of the Volcano and the lifecycle of an eruption.

This hiking does not present any particular difficulties. they are graded easy to medium – on the condition that participants do not present any respiratory condition or other significant health problems like high blood pressure. The altitude reached is around 2000m.

Note: pick-up and drop-off from your accommodation in the area of Catania or Taormina is included in the rate. Pick-up/drop-off from other location can be organized with an extra charge.
On request, it is possible to enrich this excursion with a picnic on the Volcano (local products: Caponata, cheese, olives, homemade bread, Etna wine, water) and/or with a donkey ride (one or two donkeys), with an additional cost.
